Terry L. Seipelt, MBA - Audit Manager
Terry, a native of Ohio, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, and a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics.
Terry has been affiliated with the firm for over 10 years and currently serves principally as the firm's audit manager. He has extensive international audit and business consulting experience with audit clients in Canada, China and Europe, and consulting clients with interests in Chili, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Thailand and Taiwan. Terry also has significant consulting experience in forensic accounting with Fortune 500 companies, related to charges made by the US Attorney General's Office for fraud activity in Title IV funding.
Terry has been an adjunct faculty member at two colleges for accounting and economics curriculum. He was appointed by the Governor to the Colorado Department of Education Advisory Board and served as Task Force Chairperson for legislation on Colorado Private School Governance. He also served as a member of the Schools America Committee and the Western Brown Board of Education. Terry has served as Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the cities of Hillsboro Ohio, Oro Valley Arizona, and Louisville Colorado.
Roy M. McCollom, CPA, MS - Partner
Roy is a graduate of the University of Illinois with Master's and Bachelor's of Science Degrees in Accounting. He is a licensed CPA and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In addition to his audit partner duties, Roy's focus is directed toward estate and gift tax planning. He is also the firm's primary tax and accounting research analyst.
Roy is a recipient of the “CPA’s Making a Difference Award,” a Colorado Society of CPA’s program that recognizes everyday heroes and heroines. This award is presented to CPA’s, who make a difference in their communities, within their families, or who in some way demonstrate commitment to making a difference in others lives. Roy began his professional career as a college faculty member formally teaching audit and accounting subjects to aspiring young CPA candidates. When he shifted his focus to become a practicing CPA he gave up his formal teaching profession but he never gave up being a teacher. Thanks to Roy’s mentoring and guidance, there are scores of CPA’s that owe their start to him. Roy is a native of Illinois.
Lois A. Huston, CPA - Partner
Lois is a graduate of Regis University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She is licensed as a CPA in multiple states. Professional affiliations include membership in the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In addition to her audit partner duties, Lois is partner in charge of tax compliance services. She is also responsible for firm administration and client relations. Lois has substantial audit experience working with international clients with business operations in Canada, India, Mexico and Australia.
Lois, being the daughter of missionary parents, grew up near the California / Mexico border. Lois and her family have followed her parents' lead with continuing involvement in outreach programs. On the local level, Lois and her husband Mark are mentors to youth and involved in their church. On an international level they have traveled to Mexico, Europe, and Central America working with various mission teams.
Michael L. (Mick) Schumacher - Founding Partner
CPA, CMA, MBA, PFS, ABV, CFF
Mick is the founding partner of Schumacher & Associates, Inc. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Kearney, Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, and a graduate of the University of Colorado with a Masters Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), an AICPA Accredited Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), AICPA Accredited in Business Valuations (ABV), and is AICPA Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). He is licensed as a CPA in multiple states. Professional affiliations include membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Management Accountants and has served on the Colorado Society of CPA’s Accounting and Auditing Standards Committee.
In addition to his audit partner duties, Mick's areas of focus include business valuation services, litigation support, personal financial planning and business consulting.
Mick served for five years as an officer and director of Coloradan’s for Nebraska, the Colorado chapter of the University of Nebraska Alumni Association and is a past president of the organization. Mick is a member of the American Legion and AMVETS. Mick also has been a long-time blood donor. In 2013 he was one of the honorees at the Bonfils Blood Center donor appreciation banquet in Denver, Colorado for lifetime blood donations of 10 gallons or more. Mick grew up in Nebraska and his fellow Nebraskan heroes are Warren Buffett, the Oracle of Omaha and the world’s greatest investor, and J. Sterling Morton, the first territorial governor of Nebraska and founder of Arbor Day. Mick has adopted nearly 1,000 orphaned trees and transplanted them to his formerly treeless Western Nebraska prairie property.
